Über das Projekt

Marcalais located in southwestern Honduras, in the heart of the La Paz region. This is where the Kolnáal Mujeres Cooperativewas founded as an association of indigenous Lenca women. Agriculture is one of the most important sources of income in the region, but women often have limited access to land, resources, and fairly paid work.

The cooperative addresses precisely this issue: It creates better opportunities for economic self-determination, enables producers to actively participate in coffee production, and opens up access to the international market for them. This allows them to sell their coffee at fairer prices and provide for their families in the long term.

The result is a complex, balanced coffee with sweet chocolate, delicate vanilla, and fruity freshness. With our CARETRADE approachwe support such long-term partnerships – and thus also the underdogs behind truly good coffee.
